How to get here:

Kampala city centre is 5kms away and is easily accessible by minibus taxi (known locally as a ‘matatu’) for a fare of around UGX1,000- one way.

From Kampala city centre, look for a matatu heading for Luzira or The Port Bell Road. They leave from the old Taxi Park or anywhere along Kampala Road. Get off on the Port Bell Road at the Shell station, just after the Bugolobi junction. Take the road on your left (Kireka Road) and after around 300m you will see our signpost on the left hand side, just after the old soap factory.

When driving from Jinja Road, turn into Port Bell Road at the Nakawa traffic light junction. Drive for 2.4kms and turn left at the Shell fuel station and look for our sign as above.

A Guide to Money – Ugandan Style

Please note that although the Ugandan Shilling is generally stable, exchange rates may be subject to rapid change.

Please note, U.S. Dollar notes pre 2003 are often rejected in Uganda or attract a far lower rate. Small denomination notes (below USD50-) also receive lower rates. It is also best to change dollars at banks and foreign exchanges in Kampala as rates at other establishments and elsewhere in the country can be a lot lower. Credit cards are not widely accepted in Uganda.
